As reported to the
Burglary
- An unknown person kicked a 4-inch hole in a rear wooden door at 2512 State Road. The Dec. 27 incident cost resident about $100.

- Using a person's identification information, several utility accounts were opened and used in the person's name. So far, $3,915.80 has been racked up on the account holder's name at 120 Boulder Blvd.
- A man at 232 Portage Trail had his social security number used to open a loan at Capital One Bank. Since Dec. 31, 2010, an amount of $5,490 has been used in his name. The man noticed it while doing his taxes and reported the identity theft Dec. 28, 2011.
- At 1561 Akron-Peninsula Road, Papa Joe's, a purse was stolen from a temporarily unattended booth. The Coach wallet, $300; BlackBerry; Sony digital camera, $500; checkbook; seven credit cards, house and car keys; and license were inside the $700 purse. The total loss came to $2,000 and the owner will prosecute.
- A 2003 white, Mitsubishi Galant was stolen from a parking lot behind the apartment building at 327 Portage Trail overnight. The keys may have been in the vehicle.
