Ice Carving, Skating Draws Residents to Frozen River Festival

Despite the freezing temps this weekend, the annual Cuyahoga Falls winter festival was a success.

The 2013 Cuyahoga Falls Frozen River Festival drew scores of residents down to Falls River Square over the weekend.

Jennifer Syx, deputy director of development for the city, said the annual event has been growing in recent years, and is part of an effort to offer quality events all year round for residents to enjoy.

From Friday to Sunday, the public sampled beer and wine from local businesses in the Pavilion, laced up their skates for a few trips around the rink and watched students from the University of Akron Culinary Arts program carve elaborate ice sculptures.
