Get Ready for the Cuyahoga Falls Memorial Day Parade

Details on the annual holiday celebration on Monday.

The Parade Route:

  • The Cuyahoga Falls Memorial Day parade will start at 9 a.m. Monday at the corner of Portage Trail and Lillis Drive (near the future Portage Crossing location).
  •  The parade will travel east on Portage Trail to 4th street, left on 4th to Oakwood and end at the Oakwood Cemetery.

Making appearances in this year’s holiday celebration include; the American Legion Post #281 (the host Post this year), V.F.W. 1062, members from the Marines 325th Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion will be doing the Color Guard. Veterans representing WWII, Korean, Vietnam and Iraqi, Afghanistan wars are also part of the parade.

“There is participation from the Army Recruiters in Cuyahoga Falls in attendance along with Army 4 Star General Donn A. Starry will be riding with them and attending the ceremony” said Dave Sebastian, parade chairman.

National Guard units from Stow as well as from Ohio Army National 296th Fire Department team will join the crowd.

“We have many community based groups who participate as well as Boy Scouts, who do a food drive just prior to the start of the parade which benefits local troop families as well as sending items overseas to deployed troops” Sebastian added.
