Two Cuyahoga Falls Companies Made The Weatherhead 100

The list recognizes and praises the fastest growing in the region

Two Cuyahoga Falls-based businesses made the annual Weatherhead 100 list, which honors the fastest-growing companies in the region.

ACU-Serve Corp and EnviroScience, Inc. both received the honors.

To qualify for the list, companies must show consistent growth over the last five years.

The Weatherhead 100 has been compiled and managed by the Council of Smaller Enterprises since 2004. When it began in 1987, it was produced by the Enterprise Development Inc. — the former nonprofit subsidiary of Case Western Reserve University.

Cuyahoga Falls Development Director Sue Truby was pleased to see two Cuyahoga Falls representatives on the list.

"We've had a number of companies receive the recognition in the past," Truby said. "It's a plus for the company and a feather in their cap, and also for the city. We support that growth, and we support (both companies)."

Overall, she said 2012 was a good year for business in the city of Cuyahoga Falls.

"We ended the year with $34 million in new investments — that's both commercial and residential," she said, adding the city saw several companies open within the year.

According to Weatherhead100.org, EnviroScience specializes in "ecological consulting, including wetland and stream restoration, endangered species surveys, and natural resource monitoring." And ACU-Serve "provides billing and collection services to home medical equipment providers nationwide."
