Spreading the Love: Free Roses for Good Neighbor Day

A Cuyahoga Falls flower shop is offering free roses Wednesday for residents to spread the love.

In an effort to encourage Good Neighbor Day, Linda Handschumaker, owner of off of Front Street, is handing out free dozens of roses to residents. The catch? The roses recipients may only keep one rose and must hand out the other 11 to their neighbors and residents in town today.

Cox spent hours tying together 70 dozens of roses Tuesday, but she believes this is a good gesture.

“I’ve had customers come in and say ‘this is so nice of you and I was to use a local florist in the neighborhood’,” she said. “I just feel good doing it.”

The flowers come from a wire service network known as SPD. Sponsors helped Cox pay for the roses she’s handing out.
