New Ownership at the Falls Deli Means Fresh Look, Extended Hours & More Menu Items

Things are looking a little different at the Falls Deli lately.

Now under new ownership, the deli at 2625 Bailey St. is impressing customers with its extended hours, free delivery service, up-to-date interior and extensive menu (the number of items has nearly tripled).

Tony Rini Jr., who bought the restaurant Feb. 15, says the community's response to the changes have been great.

"People are taking really well to the new changes. I'm shocked; I thought we were going to have to work really hard at that," Rini said with a laugh.

Rini suggests Falls residents check out the business' Facebook page to see what's been happening in the past few weeks. There you'll find photo after photo of meals, including giant garden salads, meatloaf and mashed potato dinners and meatball subs.

But what the restaurant really is known for is the "phenomenal" corned beef as well as the chicken paprikash (people are raving about that one, Rini said). And it's all prepared fresh daily.

The extended hours are winning people over, too.

"I think that's the reason people are gravitating toward us — it's because of our hours. We're open late."

The deli used to close just after lunchtime on weekdays, Rini said. Now, the place is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

The inside now features a 50-inch flat-screen TV and one dining table and chairs, but he says to expect more seating soon. 

Rini said it hasn't been difficult turning first-time customers into repeat customers.

"In the last two weeks we've seen people 10 times — they're coming in over and over again."
