Lofty Cafe Raising Eyebrows With Homemade Cuisine

The new eatery joined the Falls River Square District in July.

Farewell Diamond Deli, hello Lofty Cafe.

The new Cuyahoga Falls Front Street eatery features homemade sandwiches, fresh soup and salads and home-baked cupcakes, said owner Melody McGaha.

"We bake between eight to 16 different kinds of cupcakes per day, and all our ingredients are fresh, down to the turkey that we roast for our sandwiches," said McGaha.

Almost as important, the new cafe seats about 25 customers, which is a step up from its carryout predecessor.

The small restaurant, which relocated from Tallmadge on July 15, did so to meet customer demand, and the local reception has been positive so far.

To keep it inclusive, the cafe also features an assortment of vegetarian options, like the jalapeño popper grilled cheese sandwich and spicy veggie panini, said cook Kevin Liston.

The Lofty Cafe is located at 2202 Front St., and is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and is closed Sunday.
