Joe's Auto Plans to Relocate in Cuyahoga Falls

The Stow car repair and towing shop will likely pick up and move to Cuyahoga Falls to expand its business.

Customers of Joe’s Auto in Stow may soon have to drive a little farther for car maintenance and service, reports the Stow Sentry.

Vincent Bowen – owner of the repair and towing business located at 3679 Darrow Rd. – approached the Cuyahoga Falls Planning Commission on Nov. 6 and requested a zoning certificate to build a 2,800-square-foot building and 11,000-square-foot impound lot at 488 E. Steels Corners Rd. in the Falls.

The parcel is zoned E-1 Employment, which permits auto repair and tow/impound lots after a conditional zoning permit has been issued.

The commission unanimously approved the request for Joe’s to move onto the 1.813-acre parcel. The plan will now go in front of Cuyahoga Falls City Council for final approval.

"...I'm all for it and the location of it is acceptable," said Falls Ward 8 Councilman Terry Mader.

According to the site plan, prepared by architect David Pelligra, the project meets the required city criteria.

For those concerned about a potential eyesore, Cuyahoga Falls Planning and Zoning Director Fred Guerra stressed all cars would be parked in the building or the fenced-in impound lot.

Council will review the project at its Nov. 19 meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Natatorium.
