From Zzz to Mmm: Wake up With Trigo's Market Bakery

The new bakery opened its doors on Aug. 21, and has begun to win over the hearts (and stomachs) of Cuyahoga Falls residents.

Last summer, Brad and Randall Shipp decided they were through with mass-produced breads and processed desserts.

The brothers took to the kitchen, whipped up their very own artisan-style breads and French pastries, and started selling them at local farmer's markets.

Over the next few months, the popularity of their home-baked goods grew and the orders came pouring in.

"We were faced with a decision over this past winter," said Randall Shipp. "Either downsize the part-time venture or expand to meet the growing demand."

Brad and Randall leaned toward the latter, and on Aug. 21, they opened Trigo's Market Bakery at 3247 State Rd.

Since then, customers have feasted on their sourdough, French and whole wheat breads, croissants, cinnamon buns and scones.

Brad has taken on running the front of the house, while Randall -- a classically trained chef and seasoned artisan baker -- has focused on the back of the house.

The bakery is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m..

The Shipps will soon host a grand opening, but a date has not yet been set.
