The Cuyahoga Falls Farmers Market was open for business as usual on Friday, although the usually brisk pace of business was a bit off.
Maybe it was the first week of school in Cuyahoga Falls and surrounding communities, maybe it was other activities, such as Friday night football games.
But farmers displayed their produce and other vendors offered honey, soaps and scented candles and other local products.

Corn, beans and squash were plentiful, even if the early Friday crowds were not.
Danielle Waskowski, proprietor of Katiebug's Handmade Bath and Body Products and founder of the farmers' market, said the market doesn't make a lot of money, but it gets her products out in front of potential buyers who might decide to buy at a later time and place, such as at Krieger's nearby market, which is open year-round.

The market, which occupies a city parking lot at Stow Avenue and Second Street, is in its fourth year, Waskowski said.
The farmers market is usually open 3-7 p.m. on Fridays from May into October.
Carrie May, manning one of a couple of tables along with father-in-law Don May and friend Christine Wagner, said her farm expects to be harvesting fresh local produce well into October – barring a killer frost – partly because crops were planted so late this year because of excessive rain in April and May.
The operative word of the day from booth to booth was the fun vendors have at the market and how they enjoy meeting new folks and chatting with regular visitors.
