Acme Starts a New Chapter on State Road

A grand reopening will be held at the sprawling, 52,500-square-foot grocery on Tuesday, June 4.

Ready for some good news?

After a year of construction and several delays, local business officials are ready to open the seven-figure addition to the Acme Fresh Market No. 10 grocery store.

To kick off the grand reopening, Acme President Steve Albrecht, along with 150 students from Richardson Elementary School, will turn on the towering Acme sign that was renovated and recently installed at the updated store, located at 2226 State Rd.

Albrecht said the space will bring a new floral section, expanded meat and adult beverage departments, a new bakery, pharmacy and more.

The project, nearly a decade in the making, cost $8.5 million and has added over 20,000 square feet to the grocery store, said Cuyahoga Falls Director of Planning and Zoning Fred Guerra.

Construction on the addition started last May and was ongoing while the 60-year-old grocery remained open for business, said Guerra.

The grand reopening will be held Tuesday, June 4 at 9 a.m.

The public is welcome to attend and should expect special discounts and deals in celebration of the occasion.
