The Ants Come Marching In Cuyahoga Falls

Spring showers bring ... ants? 

Every spring, Cuyahoga Falls residents seem to get a visit from some carpenter ants. 

Residents talked about the unwelcome insects on the Cuyahoga Falls Patch Facebook page. 

• Sandy Davis Nowak: "Carpenter ants are very common in the falls! And destructive!!!"
• Frank Hosterman: "I Love this time of the year. It keeps me busy with Carpenter Ants and Carpenter Bees. Carpenter ants are not good for your house. It is a sign of wet wood or past water damage. This year has brought in a lot of ant calls."
• Miranda Terry: "We had them over the past couple years. When we bought our house we pulled a ton of bushes and built a deck, saw mounds of them at that time. Last season it wasn't bad at all (just knocked on wood) so we shall see this year. That home defense stuff works alright but if it gets bad, calling in a pro!!"
