St. Pet's Day Accepting Food, Litter Donations Through March

Donate dog and cat supplies to your local fire station in support of area animal-rescue groups.

We aren't the only ones suffering in a bad economy ... sometimes pets go hungry too! Through the month of March, St. Pet's Day is asking residents to consider making pet food and cat litter donations to local fire stations.

St. Pet's Day is a month-long pet food donation drive in Summit, Stark and Portage counties sponsored by the Akron-based The Celtic Club of Ohio. Last year, Summit County residents donated more than 15,000 pounds of food and pet supplies.

All the pet food collected during the 2012 drive will go to support humane societies and animal rescue groups throughout the area.
