Summit DD Board Member Elected to OACB Board of Trustees

The Ohio Association of County Boards (OACB) has elected several new Trustees, including David E. Dohnal from the County of Summit Developmental Disabilities Board, or Summit DD. The OACB is an association created to support the 88 individual Ohio County DD Boards through education, legislative efforts, and data analysis.

“I’m honored to represent Summit County and the State of Ohio on the OACB Board,” Dohnal remarked. “There are so many opportunities to make a difference in the lives of citizens with developmental disabilities through the local County Boards. And I look forward to working with the Boards and the OACB to further empower Ohio citizens with disabilities.”

Mr. Dohnal, who was elected by his peers, currently sits on Summit DD’s Board. He has also served on other boards and committees such as the Governor’s Victims of Crime Task Force, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) Abuser Registry Panel External Review Committee, and the Advocacy and Protective Services (APSI) Board. Mr. Dohnal, whose youngest daughter was born with a developmental disability, has worked on behalf of and remained a strong advocate for those with disabilities for many decades.
