DESCRIPTION:High Bridge Glens book signing July 27 at Barnes &amp\; Noble
\nThere will be a book signing for&nbsp\; High Bridge Glens of Cuyahoga
 Falls on&nbsp\;Friday\, July 27&nbsp\;from&nbsp\;6:30-8:30 p.m. at Barne
 s &amp\; Noble\, 4015 Medina Road\, Akron.\nThe High Bridge Glens book\,
  written by local historian and&nbsp\;Cuyahoga&nbsp\;Falls&nbsp\;native
Mary McClure\, is a pictorial history of the park that made Cuyahoga Fal
 ls a Victorian-era travel sensation.\nHigh Bridge Glens\,&nbsp\;whose en
trance&nbsp\;was located at Front and Prospect streets (next to what is
today the Sheraton Suites)\, was&nbsp\;once considered the "Niagara of O
hio."&nbsp\;The park is&nbsp\;also said to have had one of the first rol
ler coasters in the United States.\nAt the height of its popularity\, th
e park attracted more than 8\,000 visitors a day to Cuyahoga Falls&nbsp\
;- not bad considering the town's entire population was a little more th
an 2\,000 residents at that time.\nIf you enjoy local history or want to
know more about this early amusement park\, which extended along what i
s today the Glens Trail in the Gorge Metro Park\, stop by to see the boo
k or chat with the author.\nThe book signing is part of a local authors
book fair featuring 11 local authors whose genres include local history\
 , biographies\, cooking\, romance and children&rsquo\;s books.\nFor more
