1. If our City does not have a purpose statement then what pulls us into the future?
2. If we do not have a future plan then what leadership exists to organize time, costs, and the quality of services?
3. Is quality driven into the future or pulled into the future by our shared purpose?
4. If we do not have a shared purpose statement then must we drive by looking into the rearview mirror or can we depend on the ego of one person to lead us into a shared future?
5. Do all leadership styles depend on someone telling our leader, "You are wrong?"
6. Or, do leadership styles exist to defer judgments of good, bad, right and wrong?
7. If we defer judgments of what is wrong then can we build a list of many choices?
8. Can we inform and involve our community members in a manner where they can make informed choices?
9. If WE make informed choices then are we using a high control leadership style or a participative leadership style?
10. Can we be told that we must work together to overpower our critics and the laws of supply vs. demand?

Community Advocate? Is that like a "Community Organizer"? Where have I heard that before? What is Mr Shott really getting at here? I personally prefer people that clearly state not only their questions, but their point, message, idea, goal, and in this case political affiliation. This list of so called questions appears to be an attempt to make some kind of thickly veiled point. Say what you mean man! Step from behind the curtain and say what you mean. Just sayin!

Hi Scott,
Thank you for your question. I am using the following process:
The process uses three simple questions:
1. What is our shared purpose statement?
2. What are all of the questions that we must ask ourselves to get to our shared purpose?
3. What are all of the answer statements to all of our questions?
The above process was used to put a man on the moon.
It uses our capacity to defer judgment -- until we can make fully informed choices.
If you would like to meet so we can discuss this in more detail please let me know.
I am a resident of the Cuyahoga Falls library and school district.

These do not appear to be actual "questions" lol

Hi Adam,
Thank you for your comment.
Will you help me restate the questions so you can see them as actual questions?
The process that we are using encourages us to restate our questions to clarify and reach out to everyone in a useful manner.
And, the process also encourages us to capture the on-going dialogue with no time limit for asking questions.
The process also provides for people to meet eyeball to eyeball.
Why?
Because we can tell when people are being honest, open, and responsible when they can look each other in the eye.
This is a real simple process and yet very powerful.
