I know this is kind of last minute, but, word is just in that you are invited to a special sneak-peek viewing of our latest “Prezi”tation. Dr. Nichols will be showcasing his first of many presentations to the board and community on the PI levy spending plan.
This meeting tonight is a regularly scheduled board meeting, so other business will take place as well. We have several award ceremonies, committee reports from our PT21 group, oh- and my favorite- Comments from the Public.
Tonight will be a comprehensive look at what we need now (really, what we’ve needed for a long time!), where we’re going in the future, and how we plan to get there.
The board meeting starts at 6 pm. If you want to skip the ceremonies and reports, crushing the hearts and souls of our award winning children and hardworking staff, plan on arriving around 7 pm. But that’s just a suggestion. We could, through divine intervention, breeze through these items and move to the presentation before 7. On the other hand, we’ve been known to adjourn at 11 pm… Jus sayin’…
Both Dr. Nichols and Treasurer David Hoskin have worked tirelessly to restructure our internal operations in conjunction with our educational program, expand our college and career-path offerings, and realize that our changing demographics aren’t an excuse for mediocrity.
So join us tonight and be prepared to get informed. We can continue to be a community that argues our own self-interests on the internet, or, we can get informed, argue the needs, and move forward.

I'm just going to skip it and vote no.
Thanks for the invitation, though.

How much of the money to be raised by this levy will be used to purchase technology for administrating high-stakes standardized testing, which does benefit learning but instead shovels money into the greedy maw of testing companies?
