Eye-catching Window Display

Painted and Drilled Popsicle Sticks

I love winter and I love snow….until Christmas is over and then I’m done.  I feel I am in the majority here, right?  When last week rolled around, I found myself staring out my shop windows, through the winter decor that was hanging in them, and out onto the drab and dreary landscape.  Is it spring yet?

Answer: NO.

But that didn’t stop me from getting started on my spring time window display.  Call me crazy, but I figured that I was telling Mother Nature it was okay to keep bringing us the white stuff if I had giant snowflakes hanging in my window.  I’ve attempted to fool her by prematurely taking them down and putting up bright and happy colors instead.  Think she’ll buy it??

So my brain got a-turnin’ and a-Googlin’ as I searched for inspiration.

I found a great idea using popsicle sticks and string.

I loved it.  And…I had a box of craft popsicle sticks sitting around collecting dust!

I busted out my craft paints and the box of sticks and got started.

The overall result was really cool and looks great from the street.  I am planning on leaving them up for a while, perhaps using them as a window "valance" rather than a seasonal display.

Ever see a store window display that causes you to look twice?  Was it the beauty of it, or the materials that were used?  Have you seen any of our other seasonal window displays in the short time we've been open?  Head on over to our website/blog to see more details on how this display came to be, as well as pictures of our other windows!
