I think sometimes I need a metaphorical punch in the face that says things like, step outside your comfort zone. And also, what are you doing with your life these days? And probably most important…stop living in a rut.
In these moments, I buy hot sauce. I dunno. But it sort of seems to make sense. When a relax trick…like laying in the grass and staring at the clouds…doesn’t shake the rut, I figure it’s best to attack it with hot sauce.
Except…the truth is I’m a total conservative hot sauce wuss. And I don’t even like the mess of chicken wings…which is probably a story for a different day. So! Instead, I’ve folded a medium sized amount of hot sauce into a greek yogurt and ranch dip, and decided it’s time to be proud of my small adventures already. Already, I’ve used this as a buffalo inspired ranch salad dressing. And, as a dip for oven baked chicken fingers and grilled cheese made with extra thick french bread. It’s something like living on the edge in my house.
The last thing you should probably know is…when I feel like things are one giant mess, I overuse this … grammatical disaster. I’m not going to apologize for it. Unless you consider buffalo ranch sauce an awkward form of apology, in which case I’m sorry. For the rut too, I think.
Buffalo Ranch Dipping Sauce
2 cups plain greek yogurt
1 packet ranch seasoning
3/4 cup hot sauce (I used Frank’s Red Hot Wings sauce)
In a small mixing bowl, whisk ranch seasoning into greek yogurt. When mixture is smooth, fold in hot sauce. Transfer to a small serving bowl. Refrigerate leftovers.

This sounds really good... can't wait to try it! My son's two favorite condiments are Frank's hot sauce and ranch dressing.
(Ruts can be good. Sometimes it's life's way of giving us much needed downtime)
