Viewfinder: 2012 Stan Hywet Father's Day Car Show

Despite the soggy weather, thousands of fathers, sons and families streamed into the car show on Sunday.

The 1920 HCS (Harry Clayton Stutz) race car. Referred to as "Harry's other car," this model was built in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1920-1924, said owner Mike Barry.

Young and old alike celebrated Father's Day at the 55th annual Classic, Antique and Collector Car Show at Stan Hywet. The event showcased more than 350 antique and collector automobiles manufactured between 1896 and 1978. Despite the soggy weather, the show hit its stride in the afternoon as crowds packed the Sieberling estate to get a look at an array of automobiles not often seen at a typical car show. The 1967 Mustang Coupe. Owner Frank Latin bought the car in shambles, rebuilt it and gave it to his wife for her 40th birthday. Interesting fact: Latin said his wife had sold this same exact car decades ago and he tracked it down with the birthday idea in mind. Credit John Deike
The Corvette Sting Ray convertible roadster. Owner Robert Miller said the car was made in '74, but given the immaculate detailing, the old sports car looked brand new. Credit John Deike

The 1917 Winton Model 33 Three Quarter Limousine. According to owner David Heinrichs, the car was built in Cleveland from 1897-1924 by American automaker Alexander Winton. Credit John Deike

Fantastic show! What a retrospective on automobiles- and nice that they had a spot for more modern cars as well.
