On Thursday, school board vice president Kellie Patterson announced three new applicants had been added to the existing list, making it a dozen in all who are vying for the open Board of Education seat.

Interested residents had until June 11 to throw their hat in the ring, but according to Patterson, “(the letters of interest) were sent timely but received late by the board due to various publishing and/or issues with mail service to the board.”

The applicants will be interviewed Friday by the board.

If anyone from the community has any questions about the application process, Patterson has asked they be directed toward board president Dave Rump.
