Suspect Arrested in Fairlawn in Connection with Murder of Falls Man

Police took an Akron man into custody for the August 31 shooting death of Kim Stephen Slayko III.

 

Three law enforcement agencies nab a suspect in the murder of a Falls Army veteran.

Akron police, the U.S. Marshals Office Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and Fairlawn police assisted in the arrest of Chad Stephens, 22, of Akron.

Stephens was found in the 3200 block of West Market Street in Fairlawn Tuesday evening. He faces murder charges in connection with the shooting death of Falls Resident Kim Slayko.

On August 31, Slayko was discovered in the backyard of a house in the 900 block of Baughman Street in Akron with a gunshot wound to the chest. The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death as a homicide last week.
