Stolen Car Traced to Craig's List Ad, Assault, Burglary

Receiving stolen property
A Pennsylvania man told police a vehicle matching the description of his car, which had been stolen, was advertised on Craig's List at an address on the 900 block of Tallmadge Road in Cuyahoga Falls. The Pennsylvania man said the car had identifiable stickers and tire, but it appeared the vehicle identity number (VIN) had been tampered with. Cuyahoga Falls Police towed the vehicle for further investigation.
Assault
A Cuyahoga Falls man told police he was struck in the face with a fist at 2085 Front St., Falls River Square, at about 9:15 p.m. Sept. 1. He said he would prosecute.
Vandalism/criminal damaging
An unknown male punched a glass door at Sheetz, 1210 Main St., causing the glass to "spider," at about 2 a.m. Sept. 1. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
Breaking and entering/burglary
• A BMX bicycle valued at $150 was taken from a garage on the 200 block of Monroe Avenue the evening of Sept. 2.
• About $700 was taken from a purse in an apartment on the 2200 block of Winter Parkway between 4:30 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 1 while the resident slept.
Attempted breaking and entering, arrest
Three juveniles were arrested shortly after a resident on the 1500 block of 11th Street found someone cutting the screen out of a window at about 4:40 a.m. Sept. 3. The would-be burglars fled when the resident screamed. Police arrested three juveniles who had a knife and LED flashlights in their possession, police said.
