As of Saturday, reconstruction of the barn is about 70 percent complete, but project leader Paul Janis said fresh volunteers are still needed to finish the job. If you'd like to lend a hand, call Janis at 330-971-8190.
The barn bicentennial dedication will take place Aug. 4 at 3:30 p.m. An ice cream social and live music will be provided. The event is free and open to the public.

After weeks of reconstruction, the Keyser Park barn is beginning to look like its old self.

Three of the four walls have been re-sided with volunteers currently laboring to rebuild the fourth, fresh coats of paint have added new life to the aging structure, and within weeks, the barn will be completely restored.

“We’re about 70 percent done overall,” said Cuyahoga Falls Law Director Paul Janis who’s leading the volunteer effort.

After the final wall is rebuilt, city and volunteer members will get to work on the doors and windows.

The Keyser barn bicentennial dedication ceremony will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4 at 3:30 p.m., said Cuyahoga Falls Service Director Valerie Wax Carr. An ice cream social will run from 3 to 5 p.m. and The Community Band will be providing the music and entertainment.

Members of the Keyser family will be on hand for the dedication. The event is free and open to the public.

In the meantime, Janis is still looking for fresh volunteers to get the job done. The next day of construction will take place Tuesday, July 24 from 3 to 8 p.m.

Janis can be reached at 330-971-8190 for further volunteer information.

Broadman Baptist Church had many hands painting the barn 2 Saturdays in a row along with many others from the community. Awesome work from all who helped on the hottest days of the year. Be Blessed. Looking forward to the dedication.
