The Shell/True North gas station at 1683 State Road will reopen today after a one-week closure to replace its six older-style gasoline pumps with new models. Even the three concrete islands the pumps sit on have been replaced.
The station manager, who declined to give his name, said construction workers are putting finishing touches on the project so the station can reopen this afternoon. And customers are ready.
“I’ve been getting phone calls all day asking if we’re open yet,” the manager said.
The station closed for business last Tuesday to tear out the former pumps and islands, which were at least 15 years old.

Thank goodness! Having children, I love this station because you didn't have to drag the kids out of the car to pay for your gas. We don't use credit cards, only cash, and fast became loyal customers of this station when the girls were born.
