The following was obtained from Cuyahoga Falls police reports dated Feb. 3-5. It does not indicate convictions.

Contemptible con

A Verizon Wireless employee called a Cuyahoga Falls man last month after someone tried to sign up for a smart phone with his dead father's personal information, according to a Feb. 5 Cuyahoga Falls police report. Officers were unsure who attempted the contemptible con, and referred the man and his mother to the city's prosecutor.

Better luck next time

On Feb. 5, an unknown number of thieves kicked in the door of a Haas Avenue residence and tried to steal a Sentry Safe from inside the home. The attempt was unsuccessful and nothing was stolen.

Don't leave home without it

A woman called police on Feb. 3 after someone took her PNC debit card and withdrew $600. There is a suspect, and according to the report, the woman intends on pressing charges.
