Police: Man Caught While Burglarizing Ex-Wife's Apartment

Anthony Phillips, 35, of Canton, was arrested Nov. 23 by Cuyahoga Falls Police and charged with burglary, a fourth-degree felony.

Cuyahoga Falls Police reportedly caught Anthony L. Phillips in the midst of a burglary last Friday.

The target: his ex-wife's apartment, according to the police report.

When officers arrived on Nov. 23 at 4:26 p.m., they found Phillips in her garage.

As police canvassed the scene, it appeared he had entered the unlocked apartment and intended to steal several items from her bedroom.

Police also found a key to the apartment on Phillips, which he had obtained without his ex-wife's permission.

Phillips was charged with burglary, a fourth-degree felony.

He was arraigned in Stow Municipal Court, pled not guilty and is awaiting a preliminary hearing, slated for Dec. 6.

According to the Stow Clerk of Court's Office, his case will likely be bound over to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas following next week's hearing.

I wonder how Anthony's his employer feels about their name being displayed in his mug shot???? This would make me think twice about hiring this company to work at my home!
