Police Blotter: Thrifty Stealer and Attempted Car Jacking

As reported to the Cuyahoga Falls Police

Theft

  • At Village Thrift, 2930 State Road, an unknown female walked out of the store with seven dresses. She didn't pay. The suspect ran to a tan or gold Cadillac parked at Quality Scrub Car Wash and drove east on Graham Road. The total Jan. 7 loss is $154.
  • An iPhone, worth about $450, was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at 510 Howe Ave., Burlington Coat Factory, Jan 7. 
  • A woman concealed $110 of merchandise in her purse and attempted to leave Home Depot at 325 Howe Ave, Jan 8. 

Attempted Car Theft

  • A woman parked her car at 427 Chestnut Blvd. Saturday, Jan. 7 to visit a friend that evening. At around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, she discovered a torn-apart dashboard, a stripped and hanging ignition, her stereo in the trunk and a trashed interior. The 1999 Hyundai Elantra was her father's, who she notified. Total damage is about $2,000. Police have no leads at this time.
