LOOK: How Do You Like the Broad Boulevard Holiday Lights?

The decision to break tradition and wrap the lights around the tree trunks verses the branches is kicking up some social media controversy. Offer your input in the Comments!

Cuyahoga Falls residents have been buzzing on their respective Facebook pages about the Broad Boulevard holiday lights. Some like the strands of lights wrapped around the trunks, while other have complained that it creates an incomplete look. According to the Cuyahoga Falls Electric Department, the lights had been set up in-house over the last several years; however, the decision was made this year to bring in Ball Home Services -- a Cuyahoga Falls-based company -- to set up the lights. Ball decided to break tradition and decorate the trunks versus the branches. What do you think of the new look? Tell us in the Comments section below!

It looks stupid - looks like they took the "easy way out". If you are going to wrap the trunks - then the branches need lights also. I agree - it looks incomplete.

I think wrapping the trunks is very pretty. I first noticed how much liked them when I saw the trees done that way at Edwin Shaw. It looks more uniform than the other way. Either way, I love Christmas lights so good job CFalls!

I love the trunk look but I feel that the tops should have a couple strands of blue or something! I like driving down the boulevard and actually looking up at the lights.

It looks unfinished. Go back to lighting the whole tree. It seems to be the lazy man's way out.

Actually I like them both! I think the Falls does an EXCELLENT job with decorating our city. Doesn't hurt to have a little variety. It looks beautiful!

I think they look better with the branches decorated, but it still looks pretty.

I don't hate it, but I definitely liked it better when it was in the branches. Either way, I always love that they pay attention to Broad Boulevard.

I think the lights look much better up in the branches. The lighted trunks would look good in addition to, but not in lieu of, lighted braches. I was disappointed by the incomplete look this year.

I much prefer the lighted branches. If the trunks were lighted in addition to lighting the branches, it would look great! Just the trunks...disappointing.

Lighting just the trunks comes across as lazy. I prefer the lighted branches by far. It would be ok if they did both, but not just the trunks.

It reminds me of an old, old sci-fi movie:
Day of the Triffids

I appreciate all of the hard work the city does to decorate. For some reason i love the tress by Edwin Shaw much better. Maybe bc there are more trees in a smaller area so the magnitude seems bigger? Idk. Dont change that!! I was trying to figure out why I didn't like Broad Blvd as much and I decided maybe the trunk lights get "lost". There are a lot of houses lit up down Broad Blvd so I think they sorta blend in as you peer down the street. Having the lights up higher seems more of a focal point. Idk. Either way I love christmas lights and always find myself excited for the city to turn them on!! Thanks City of Cuyahoga Falls!!

My partner and I bought a home here and I am new to this area having lived in Downtown Pittsburgh for years. I am pleased to see that Cuyahoga Falls, at least, tries to do something. It looks nice. I, also appreciate the fact that they go around and keep up with the landscaping (good job!). This city also seems to be moving forward by trying to make it better despite the rough economy (The Portage Crossings project). I, am excited to see more things come to the area. Stay positive folks. :)

I look forward to the Broad Blvd lights every year, they just look so beautiful going all the way down the street, however, I really do prefer the lights in the branches rather than just on the trunks. I agree they look very incomplete, like a bunch of chopped off trees! The city as a whole does a great job of looking very festive during the Christmas holidays!
