I submit that we’re all comedians in our own right. Some do it for a living, most use friends and family as their audiences.

Sometimes the joke comes spontaneously, and sometimes it’s a carefully worded, quick-witted connection of letters and syllables that – if delivered in just the right way – can make folks fall out of their chairs.

We’ve all got a great, original joke and now’s the time to share it! Starting now, Patch and the Funny Stop Comedy Club are introducing a new contest to find the funniest people in Cuyahoga Falls.

Simply submit your best quip in the Comments below and let the readers vote. Readers will weigh in by hitting the Reply button under the joke they like most and comment on the joke. The top three jokes based on reader reaction will be finalists.

To determine the winner, yours truly, along with Patch Ad Manager Brandon Tidd and Funny Stop owner Nidal Barakat, will make the final call.

Here comes the cool part: the winning joke will be delivered on stage next Wednesday during Patch’s comedy night by the club emcee at 8:30 p.m. The victor will also receive a Patch t-shirt and bragging rights.

This week's contest starts today and runs through Tuesday, May 29 at noon. The winning joke will be delivered on May 30.
