It's been a year since Stow lost one of their officers — a man "Who Held the Line."

Officer Jonathan V. Bastock of Cuyahoga Falls, died Feb. 5, 2011 at 47-years-old from a blood clot while recuperating from knee surgery after falling on ice while on a call.

"Stow marks the anniversary of Officer Bastock's passing with continued prayers and thoughts for his family," said Mayor Sara Drew. "He was a dedicated city employee and public servant and is missed by his colleagues every day."

In the past year since the passing of Officer Jonathan Bastock his memory has been honored by the following organizations:

"I think that on the first anniversary of the death of Officer Jonathan Bastock it is fitting that the family be allowed the privacy to ruminate on the passing of their husband and father," said Chief Louis Dirker. "We of the Stow Police Department continue to pray for our departed brother and for his family. Donna Bastock knows that she and her family are and always will be a part of the Stow Police Department family."
