Gunman at Large Following Hungry Howie's Robbery
Cuyahoga Falls Police are on the hunt for a man who held up the pizza joint Monday night.

Cuyahoga Falls Police raced to Hungry Howie's on Monday to investigate a reported armed robbery.
When officers arrived, the gunman had already escaped, leaving three Hungry Howie's employees unharmed, according to a police press release.
The armed robber reportedly entered the pizza shop -- located at 2404 State Rd. -- at about 8 p.m., stole an undetermined amount of money and fled.
A Munroe Falls K-9 unit was dispatched to the scene.
According to police radio traffic, the dog followed a scent west behind the restaurant, but the trail went cold near Phelps Avenue and 23rd Street.
According to the Falls News Press, the suspect was a masked, 6-foot African-American man with a thin build.
The department posted a new lead on its Facebook page Thursday stating that detectives had reason to believe the suspect may have sped off in a maroon 2005 Chevy Impala with New York plates.

Evening riverrat,
I'm at the police station several days a week, flipping through hundreds of police reports. I can tell you, oftentimes, the suspects are white, like the fellow who burglarized the Georgio's Pizza in late November.

I see what you're going after. However, you seem to have fallen into the same quagmire. It would be interesting and much more professional to actually publish the stats to dispel any inference of bigotry, any type as it where. I do it all the time in my line of work. It's relatively easy. For example, I tabulate all the crime for a month based upon specific categories. I then determine the race of the perpertrator. I then divide the crime commited into respective ethnic categories-- caucasion, black, asian, hispanic, other, unknown. I then crunch the numbers for exact percentages. This methodology by reason precludes both "typical suspect" and "oftentimes," comments-- as sometimes suspects may also be Asian, Hispanic, Indian, etc. just a thought.

We need tougher, smarter gun laws to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. The NRA is wrong. It can be done. All gun sales need to involve a background check. We need to identify more people who are unfit to purchase weapons (due to felonies, misdemeanor offenses, substance abuse, mental illness etc.). Over time this should work to reduce the level of violence in our society.

Jeff, I disagree with your statement completely. It is thoughts like yours and unknowledgeable statements/stances that cause the rights of law abiding citizens to be taken away. First, the lawful purchase of a firearm already requires a background check. Key being “lawful” purchase. Secondly, the NRA protects the rights of law abiding citizens. Again, key being “law abiding”. Thirdly, keeping firearms away from “law abiding” citizens creates easy targets later known as victims. Lastly, laws are only good for those willing to follow them. They regulate law abiding citizens not criminals. It is not more laws that are needed, what is needed is harsher punishment and consequences for criminals or those attempting to commit a crime. Criminals have far too many rights. Before you so boldly want to get rid of or diminish my second amendment right and criticize the organization that protects it, please do me a favor and become a member of the NRA for a year and better understand what they represent. I fully support and encourage the right to carry for every law abiding citizen and that is what will make criminals think twice. Also, I encourage business to take down their “no firearms” signs. The only people you are keeping out of your business are those who can protect themselves and you if there is a life threatening situation. Those individuals who are “law abiding”, who have had a background check, and who are properly licensed to carry the firearm.

Tammy, We need improvements to the background check system. Private sales of guns also need a background check. Also, we all know that many violent crimes that are actually felonies are plea bargained down to misdemeanors. Misdemeanors that involve violence should result in that person not being able to pass a background check. George Zimmerman in Florida had assaulted a police officer and was still able to purchase a gun. This is wrong. If you are concerned about stopping crime, you should support taking action to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. We need to take action. The status quo sucks.

jeff our government gives them the guns just ask our border agents that get killed with them . then they just quiet the whole thing .“Fast and Furious” I beleive we all have a right to arm our selves and if more people did we would have less predators out there and do some research we have tough gun laws but people who break laws do not care about them and you will always have people breaking laws . if you research am sure there are more violent crimes committed with out guns than with
