Designer handbags are a girl's best friend; knockoffs are a crook's worst nightmare.
On Tuesday, a federal grand jury indicted Ronald J. Azar, 34, of Cuyahoga Falls, for trafficking in counterfeit merchandise; specifically 104 imitation purses, which, if genuine, would have been valued at $183,000, according to a U.S. Department of Justice press release.
“The marks on the merchandise were identical to and substantially indistinguishable from marks used on genuine merchandise,” the press release stated.
Azar will be tried in Cleveland's U.S. District Court.
