Get the Kate Middleton Look for Less in Cuyahoga Falls

Three vintage shops in Cuyahoga Falls show you how to look like Kate Middleton at an affordable price tag.

The royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is April 29, and Kate's choice of wedding dress is "one of the most highly anticipated fashion moments of the year," according to UK Vogue. Since the engagement announcement on November 16, 2010, Kate has become a style icon.

You can get the Kate Middleton look for less right here in Cuyahoga Falls. The vintage shops in the Riverfront District carry the hats, whimsies, fascinators, gloves and other accessories Kate wears at affordable prices.

Sea Houser, owner of The Hidden Pearl, says Kate Middleton favors primary and neutral colors, such as red, blue, black and cream. If Kate wears a hat or a whimsy (a small hairpiece with a veil), she keeps the rest of her accessories simple.

Houser advises you wear the hat, whimsy or fascinator (a hair accessory bigger than a barrette made of feathers or flowers) tilted over where your hair is parted, like Kate. Add a pair of gloves and a clutch for true Kate Middleton style. She is also famous for her coats and coat dresses, and The Hidden Pearl has a few Kate-like coats.

Angelo Eleo, owner of Signature Antiques and Vintage Clothing, says she's seen a heightened interest in these types of accessories since the royal engagement announcement. Wide brimmed hats have been popular.

Sea Houser agrees and says along with hats she's sold teacups. She recently sold a whimsy and a wide brim hat to a mother who planned to send them to her daughter in North Carolina. The daughter is hosting a royal wedding party the day of the wedding.

"Definitely more interest in hats since the announcement of the royal wedding," said Karen Davies, owner of Secret Past.

"Ladies parties and tea parties are going on," Davies added.

I don't know if I could pull of a Fascinator, but I want one just for the fantastic name! Maybe if I work on my British accent...

Thanks for the tips, Alanna. You are pulling off those looks! What fun pictures. I hope you came home with some of those pieces.

Hi Jenny, I love the word fascinator! ;) Kate Middleton pulls them off better than anyone, I think.

I'm glad you liked the tips and the photos. Thanks for your nice words, too. It was fun to do. I actually didn't, but I might have to go back and get the clutch, as I also love clutches. :)

Thanks again!

Thanks Marie, I appreciate that! It was a fun assignment. It's not every day I get to dress like a princess.

Enjoy the wedding! My DVR is ready. Before work tomorrow morning I plan to hop online and look at her dress. I agree with UK Vogue when they say "it's one of the most highly anticipated fashion moments of the year." I'm so excited to see it!

Thanks Jenny, I'm glad you enjoyed the photo gallery. I had fun! These shops are wonderful. If you do have somewhere to fancy to go, I highly recommend them for clutches, jewelry, or anything else you need for a fancy evening.

I've not had a chance to sit down and watch the wedding, but I've been perusing the Internet all day. I thought her dress was gorgeous and her reception gown was fabulous too! So glamorous. Marrying her prince. :)

I was actually hoping for an article that would make me appear young, thin and wealthy. The hats are the least of my worries . . . .

Yes, young, thin, wealthy and a closet-full of Kate clothes. And a tiara. Or two. ;)
