Five Things To Do This Weekend
Grab some laughs or attend holiday celebrations at library, churches.
Looking for something to do with your spare time this weekend? Here's a roundup of events happening in the area, straight from the Events sections of Fairlawn-Bath Patch, Cuyahoga Falls Patch and Stow Patch:
- The Fairlawn-Bath Library has two events of interest happening today. Kids in kindergarten through fifth-grade can practice their literacy skills at 10:30 this morning by reading aloud to the library's doggie pals. Goodies, crafts and live music are all part of the library's Holiday Open House today from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
- Celebrate the season at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Cuyahoga Falls, where members will stage a live nativity scene from 6 to 7:30 tonight. There's even a live sheep who enjoys being petted.
- Take a break from holiday shopping and wrapping by grabbing a few laughs at 7:30 tonight, when the Point of No Return Improv group turns audience suggestions into unscripted scenic comedy at the Quirk Cultural Center in Cuyahoga Falls.
- Attend a free presentation on effective juvenile intervention and sentencing presented by Steve Stahl, assistant Summit County Juvenile Court administrator, at 6 p.m. Sunday at Stow Safety Center.
- Join members of the Unitarian Universalist Church-Akron in Fairlawn as they celebrate the return of the "Season of Light" during the church's 13th Annual Candlelight Winter Solstice event at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
