The following was culled from Cuyahoga Falls police reports dated June 19-21. It does not indicate a conviction.

On Thursday, a Ron Marhofer employee reported that a cunning car thief had stolen a silver 2004 Hyundai Sonata right off the lot sometime on Sunday. Estimated loss: $4,000.

100 percent off

A Best Buy security guard reported Thursday that a woman entered the electronics outlet, placed two Samsung Galaxy tablets in her handbag and slipped out of the store unnoticed. Estimated loss: $800.

Desperate measures

A man called police Tuesday morning and said someone had syphoned $30 worth of gas from his fuel tank. His car had been parked in an empty residence on the 1200 block of Curtis Avenue.
