LOOK: DeWitt Elementary Kicks off Million Minutes Challenge
Faculty, students and volunteers from DeWitt are intent on reading over one million minutes this year in the pursuit of literacy.

Many were on hand last Friday at DeWitt Elementary as the school hosted its first Family Literacy Night to help kick off the school's fourth annual Million Minutes Challenge.
Since 2009, DeWitt students, teachers and volunteers have been asked to read one million minutes per year outside of the classroom in the pursuit of literacy, according to DeWitt PTA President Megan Blosser.
This year, the school's Million Minutes Committee -- chaired by teacher Carrie Fromson -- decided to up the goal by 250,000 minutes.
"Feedback for (Family Literacy Night) has been very positive and we plan to make this an annual event," said Blosser.
