Cuyahoga Falls Woman Stabbed Over Cigarette
The suspected felonious assault incident is under investigation by Cuyahoga Falls Police detectives.
Updated 11:45 a.m.
A seemingly innocent encounter turned vicious earlier this week when a 20-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman was reportedly knifed on her front porch in the 300 block of Johnson Avenue.
On Oct. 22 at 3:24 a.m., the woman claimed an unidentified man approached her, asked for a cigarette and stabbed her in the stomach when she refused, according to a Cuyahoga Falls Police report.
Officers rushed to the scene, but were unable to find the attacker.
The woman was taken to Akron City Hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown.
The Cuyahoga Falls Police Detectives Bureau is actively investigating the incident.
Police Sgt. James Singleton declined to comment Wednesday evening on whether detectives had any leads or suspects.

Good morning, Rich W.,
The police report didn't specify what the man looked like; and police refused to comment on the case, saying only that it was an ongoing investigation.

Something sounds fishy with this story.

I guess I'm a skeptic but sounds more like covering up an argument and not wanting someone to get in trouble. I hope there are not violent stabbers wandering around C falls in the middle of the night.

YEAH I GOTTA AGREE with you guys .When I first read this something was off,my first reaction.like when Iwould ask my kids what happened? and ID get that'' look'' and then the story.True, a woman should be able too smoke on her front porch 24/7 if she feels like it.But realistically a man will barely do that! If I did, Id be prepared.Idont even stop when I hear do you gotta a light? You know how much crap starts with that or do you have a dollar?I just keep walking. But there is something being investigated so we just wait and see.Let the police do their work. There is a good chance they probably already know.Just have too have all the legal steps in order before you make an arrest.

Hi Alicia,
Yes, actually. I heard from a source that the girl suffered relatively minor injuries from the stabbing. The police still aren't saying anything.
