Cuyahoga Falls Man Tries to Outrun Police, Fails
Warren Bartz III, 33, of Cuyahoga Falls, was taken down after leading police on a chase down Graham Road on Jan. 21.
On Jan. 21 at 3 p.m., a Cuyahoga Falls woman called police when she saw a man -- later identified as Warren F. Bartz III -- trying to open the back door of her 8th Street home.
Finding the door locked, Bartz fled and was quickly spotted by Cuyahoga Falls police.
Officers ordered him to stop, but Bartz, instead, led them on a foot chase down Graham Road.
Once tackled on Prange Drive, he physically resisted arrest, leaving his face cut and bloody.
Police called in paramedics to treat Bartz's minor injuries before he was taken into custody, according to police radio traffic.
Bartz, 33, of Cuyahoga Falls, was charged with obstructing official police business, a second-degree misdemeanor; resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor; and criminal trespassing, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
According to the Stow Clerk of Courts Office, Bartz pled guilty to all three charges in Stow Municipal Court on Jan. 24.
Bartz was fined and received six months probation. A jail sentence was suspended, but will be imposed if Bartz violates any law over the next two years.
