Crash Update: Driver Reportedly Lost Conciousness Before Slamming Into Parked Car
The driver, who has not yet been identified, was taken to Summa Western Reserve Hospital after suffering a head injury in the violent crash.
Around 6:45 p.m. on Thursday evening, a 48-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man lost control of his car, jumped a curb, smashed through a fence and hit a sedan that was parked in the driveway of 1831 Sackett Avenue.
Upon impact, the parked Chevrolet Monte Carlo spun into a tree and slammed into the nearby Sackett residence, said Ken Boldt, who owns the home where the accident occurred.
According to the police report, the man lost consciousness while driving and his foot came down on the gas pedal, causing him to rapidly accelerate. Following the crash, the driver – who is reportedly a diabetic – was taken to Summa Western Reserve Hospital for a head injury.
Both cars sustained “major damage,” said police Sgt. Mark Hawley.
Damage to the house was “minimal,” he said.
As of Thursday evening, the extent of the man's injuries was unclear.

So where are the posters who decided to run their mouths -- one in particular -- BEFORE the investigation was over and assumed they were texting and/or driving under the influence? Yeah, you should stay quiet. Which you should've done before.
