Howard Walter Baughman, 84, was a mail carrier for the west side of Akron. He and his wife, Jean, worked with the youth at Lawndale (now Rolling Acres) Alliance Church and at Beulah Beach campground in Vermilion, Ohio. He was also a volunteer at the prisoners' halfway house at the Furnace Street Mission in Akron.
Calling hours are from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12 at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home. Rev. Nevin Wiest will officiate at the funeral services, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 at Riverside Alliance Church, 2433 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44319.
